5th batizado 2006
This year the annual Batizado was held on the first weekend of June, and we had the pleasure of having special guest Mestre Brasilia from São Paulo, Brazil. He was the co-founder, with Mestre Suassuna, of our Group Cordão de Ouro back in 1967.
Other capoeira special guests included Mestre Espirro Mirim (Fortaleza, Brazil), Mestre Ze Antonio ( Guaratingueta, Brazil), Mestre Zangado (Marseille, France), Mestre Poncianinho and Contra-Mestre Casquinha (London, UK), Professor Parente (Manchester, UK), Professor Boneco (Brighton, UK) and Contra-Mestre Xuxo (Graz, Austria). This Batizado wasn't characterized only by the high standard of workshops offered by the attending Mestres, but also by the 4th Belts awarded to Mascote and Tatanka - two long-serving pupils of Contra-Mestre Papa-Léguas at Cordão De Ouro Nottingham.
